South Korean studio Shift Up stated earlier in the year that it was considering a PC port for its acclaimed action title Stellar Blade (in addition to a potential sequel), and how now not only confirmed that that port is coming, but also offered a rough release window (or a target, at least).
As part of the company’s recent quarterly investors Q&A (via Inven KR), it was announced that Shift Up is aiming to release Stellar Blade for PC sometime in 2025. The developer also stated that based on recent sales trends on Steam for AAA titles (Black Myth: Wukong in particular), the studio expects Stellar Blade to sell better on PC than it has on PS5.
“We are aiming for a launch in 2025,” the developer said. “Considering the recent trends such as Steam’s growing share of the AAA game market and the global box office success of Black Mythology: Wukong, we expect to see more success on PC than consoles.”
Of course, Stellar Blade has performed quite well on PS5 as it is, with Shift Up having announced back in June that the game had sold over 1 million units since its release in late April.
Stellar Blade is also set to receive NieR: Automata collaboration DLC on November 20, adding new cosmetics, quality-of-life features, and a Photo Mode.
In our review of Stellar Blade, we awarded it a score of 8/10, saying, “Fluid and adrenaline-fueled combat, a compelling setting, and a stylish aesthetic make Stellar Blade an action game well worth experiencing.” Read the full review through here.
