Alongside providing a release date for Alan Wake 2’s Physical Deluxe Edition, Remedy Entertainment revealed that its second expansion, Lake House, is also launching in October.
When asked what it could say about it, the developer said, “Not much!” It reaffirmed that the expansion occurs in the titular facility near Cauldron Lake, Bright Falls. An “independent government organization” set it up to “conduct secret research,” but as so often happens in the Remedy Universe, things go wrong.
It remains to be seen how events will play out, but it will likely tie into the base game’s story more than Night Springs. The latter deviated heavily by featuring three “new” characters – The Actor, The Waitress and The Sibling. Their stories play out within the narrative framework of the Twilight Zone-esque show, with no bearing on their inspirations.
Stay tuned for more details on the Lake House expansion in the coming months, and check out our review for Night Springs. Alan Wake 2 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
