EA Sports FC 25 is set to introduce an entirely new gameplay experience in the form of Rush, a 5v5 game type that is replacing Volta from entries in recent years, and EA has released a deep dive trailer that offers details on what it will bring.
The simple pitch for Rush is that it’s going to provide a closer experience to 11v11 matches than past smaller formats did, but in a 5v5 setting. That, of course, will mean some key things will still be changing.
That will entail a smaller pitch, as well as some new rules that will apply only to Rush, such as offsides only being given when you’re in the final third of the pitch, or red cards being replaced by new blue card, which will temporarily eject players, who will only be allowed to re-enter a match the next time their team concedes a goal.
Rush will also be available in all modes of the game, which means you can look forward to different versions of the 5v5 experience in Career Mode, Clubs, and Ultimate Team, each bringing their own unique flavour. Check out the deep dive below for more details.
EA Sports FC 25 launches on September 27 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Check out its recently released gameplay deep dive trailer through here for more information on its on-pitch improvements.
